Job summary
We are looking for 2 experienced Assistant Psychologists to work in North Mersey Inpatient Psychology. 1 x Assistant on Dee Ward (female), Clock View, and 1 x Assistant on Windsor Ward (mixed), Toxteth. Posts are adult acute inpatient wards contributing to increased therapeutic activities on the wards.
We are looking for passionate individuals with a strong commitment to social justice. Dee Ward applicants should be able to demonstrate their enthusiasm for working with women.
The base for Windsor Ward is Toxteth, but will change to Mossley Hill in Autumn 2025. It will also transition to male only, therefore, offers of employment are with the understanding that you will move to the new premises.
Successful candidates will be able to support and enhance the psychological care of service users working within a multi-disciplinary team including psychiatry, nursing and occupational therapy staff. Working with other services including social care, community mental health teams also occur.

Main duties of the job
The role will involve supporting psychological assessments and evidence based interventions under the supervision of a qualified Psychologist. Assistant Psychologists will work with the Psychologist in promoting psychological treatments.
The Assistant Psychologist will deliver group and individual psychological interventions for service users on the ward. There will be opportunities to support inpatient services in audit and research, in order to inform service development and support best practice. This is a well-respected role for Assistants wishing to gain further experience of inpatient services, in supportive and welcoming teams.
The successful applicants must have a degree in psychology, which confers Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
