Job summary
We have a vacancy for a school health support worker (Band 3) to come and join us to support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) and delivery of immunisations within the Liverpool 5-19 Service. Our 5-19 teams offer health and wellbeing advice, information and support which encompasses children's physical and emotional health. Your role will be varied across the childrens 5-19 service and will include the delivery of the childhood measurement programme - NCMP, as well as the HCP and supporting the immunisation team.
Main duties of the job
The Children's service provides support to children, young people and their families within a progressive universal model of service delivery dependant on assessed need. The service offers every child/family a programme of screening, immunisations, developmental reviews and information and guidance to support parenting and healthy choices as defined by The Healthy Child Programme (Department of Health, 2008).
The post holder will work as part of a School Health Team to promote and maintain the health and well being of children and young people within a defined school population. Following appropriate training and assessment assist the school nursing teams in the organisation and implementation of health screening and immunisation sessions.
The post holder will undertake duties that ensure the smooth running which underpin the service delivery from the School Nursing Teams. This includes the organisation and management of resources (equipment,and stock) and providing appropriate clinical administrative support in base and at other locations as service needs dictates.
Ensure the delivery of the quality strategy within the designated area incorporating establishment of systems and processes.
