As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high quality care.

Working both autonomously and as part of the team, you will carry out assessments for adults and children in the community for equipment and adaptations to increase independence, safety and to assist people to remain in their own homes.

There are increasing numbers of people with long term complex conditions living in the community. These people need a range of adaptations and equipment to allow them to continue to live as safely and independently as possible.

The service is based within the Centre for Independent living in Huyton and also involves some working from home as well as community visits.

You will enjoy working as part of a highly skilled, motivated and friendly team to deliver excellent care.

Main duties of the job

To utilise developed specialist knowledge to provide the professional contribution within designated Occupational Therapy Services and to assist in the organisation, development, co-ordination and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy Service in conjunction with the Clinical Principle Occupational Therapist and relevant Team/Service Manager.

The post holder will contribute to an environment that works with local services to provide evidence based assessment and delivery of care. They will continue with their own professional development and assist with that of other OT staff. They will be required to have a flexible approach to working hours to ensure that the needs of their clients are met.
