Job summary
Join our dedicated and friendly Community Phlebotomy Service, where you will have the opportunity to provide compassionate care to patients both in their homes and community clinics. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and are seeking motivated Community Phlebotomists to support the teams based in Knowsley, Liverpool or Sefton.
The successful candidates must be willing to travel to work at other sites / geographical areas if needed.
Various posts available full and part time, minimum hours 18.75. We are unable to guarantee set days.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is expected to work effectively as a team member of the community phlebotomy service, ensuring a reliable, responsive and quality blood collection service.

Main responsibilities:
To take blood samples from patients referred into the service in a variety of settings and venues across the boroughs of Knowsley or Sefton.
To ensure that all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
To keep an adequate supply of essential equipment for clinics and domiciliary visits to ensure service delivery.
To work in line with the infection prevention and control policy.
To maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times.
Maintain high leve of competency in all required clinical techniques.
Ensure specimens are appropriately prepared prior to being collected, for example accurately labelled and in correct sample bottles.
