An exciting opportunity has developed within the Sefton Building Attachment and Bonds service Mersey Care for a Dads/partner therapeutic practitioner. This post will be working dads/partners to build relationships with their babies and infants. The purpose of the role is to fill the identified gap for vulnerable dads/partners who struggle to receive the right targeted, specialist therapeutic support. (Good practice Guide 2021) Identified that this group of men/partner identified as feeling marginalised and o excluded by services during the perinatal period The Dads/partner worker will offer a 'whole family model' engaging vulnerable dads/partners, as well as mothers/carers and will work in partnership with Everton in the Community (EITC)
It has been recognised nationally that dads/partners are often excluded from services, in particular our most vulnerable dads/partners are falling down service cracks and need the same equitable therapeutic support and interventions to support their mental, parenting, bond and attachment during the first two years of their baby's life (Good Practice Guide 2021)
The successful candidate will be supported to develop partnership approaches to co delivering services to Dads/Partners within the family wellbeing centres and EITC

Main duties of the job
The role aims to support the engagement of Dads/Partners and deliver therapeutic Parent Infant MentalHealth (PIMH) interventions and support, as part of the BABS and Everton in the Community (EitC) servicesand models.The post-holder will hold a qualification (Post grad cert) in Low intensity working or Primary Care MentalHealth work. Have the ability to offer evidence-based PIMH practice and facilitate one to one therapeuticwork, guided self-help, psycho-educational programmes and group work. Develop and support innovativepractice with trainee IAPT Psychological Well-being Practitioners, to other workers qualified to act in Lowintensity worker roles and to Primary Care colleagues, such as health visitors and to colleagues in statutoryand non-statutory organisations.In addition, there is a significant case management component to the post and this is an opportunity fora qualified and experienced specialist practitioner or therapist who is enthusiastic and excited by thedevelopment of low intensity PIMH interventions for DADS to share their interest and passion forsupporting vulnerable parents and infants and to develop these qualities and skills in others Via the modelof Parent Infant Mental Health.The post holder will work with Dads/Partners with socio-economic inequalities, different cultural,religious backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and may be called upon to work invarious settings (homes/ Family Wellbeing Hubs and EiTC )
