Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dietitian to join our friendly, experienced and innovative team specialising in Children and Young People's Eating Disorders.

Our team consists of various professionals with extensive experience and knowledge of eating disorders including; psychiatrists, family therapists, CBT therapist and Nurses.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated to work with children, young people and their families and carers. They will be confident to work both as part of a team and independently, developing groups and leading sessions with our young people and their families/carers to support their recovery. The role would be excellent for an experienced dietitian to widen their knowledge and develop their skills. All training and support will be provided one they are in post.

The role is based at Knowsley Resource and Recovery Centre, within the grounds of Whiston Hospital, however the CEDS team are a Pan-Borough service, covering the boroughs of Knowsley, Halton, St Helen's and Warrington. There will be an expectation of travelling independently throughout the boroughs to attend different bases and expenses can be reimbursed.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide specialist dietetic assessment, diagnosis and treatment programmes to children and young people with eating disorders. They will work as part of the MDT and wider professional community to provide the most appropriate advice and support for children and young people. The post holder will be involved in providing training and education to our colleagues both in health and education settings in all areas of the specialised field of Eating Disorders.

The post hold will have a case load of patients and will provide appropriate and evidence based care to children and young people who use the service. Clinical and Management supervision will be offered regularly along with an opportunity to attend reflective practice sessions.
