Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Health Technology and Access service to join the Training team as a Training Support Officer. Primarily, under the supervision of the Training and Systems Development Lead, you would be responsible for delivering training to both new and existing staff members alongside the existing Training Support Officer. The role will also include some limited involvement in operational floor walking support.

There will be a presentation required:Title: Developing Training Plan based on Service NeedTime: 10 MinutesA Microsoft word and excel test will be done on the day of the interviewTime: 15 minutes

Main duties of the job

To lead on the development, training delivery and support of operations and systems such as Adastra, EMIS Web, Cisco, etc.

To be the operational and system subject matter expert leading on training and enquiries from service users, both internal and external.

To support the clinical and corporate governance frameworks through the provision of training to enhance service delivery both in quantitative and qualitative measures in accordance to KPI's and operational frameworks.

To ensure continuous provision of HTA training and induction for staff using own initiative employing gap analysis where appropriate.

To ensure appropriate levels of provision of mandatory or non-mandatory training to staff and others is provided using project planning methodologies for training schedules.

To provide support to the Training and Systems Development Lead and any other team member who requires support either in an arranged training session or ad-hoc request.

Job responsibilities

Lead on the delivery of a rolling programmes of training with sufficient capacity to meet service demand throughout the year.

Act upon own initiative to liaise with Team Leaders and Managers to compile training programmes that fit into the Operational Delivery of the service and external provider partners.

Delivery of unsupervised training in classroom based group sessions and one to one, occasionally external to base.

Provide constructive feedback, resolve issues and problems while maintaining important relationships with staff and third party training providers.

Provide accurate up-to-date advice and guidance to staff and managers and support staff to do the same using coaching/mentoring methodologies were appropriate.

Participate actively in team working including leading on updating programmes of work on training delivery and ensuring self and colleagues are up-to-date with training provision.

Evaluate training activities and provision providing reports and feedback.

Assist in the planning, co-ordination and evaluation of the Trust and Local Induction Programme for new starters.

Assist in the implementation of Staff Performance Reviews providing advice and guidance to staff and their managers about training requirements and opportunities.

Creating and developing of training material in a constant environment of change.

Creating, developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures as and when changes are made to service pathways or provision.

Development and maintenance of a comprehensive record of training undertaken by staff and updating complex training matrix, mandatory training matrix and audit matrix and to advise any gaps in training.

Creating, developing and maintaining staff competency frameworks following training or training review.

Conducting Training Needs Analysis in the department.

Awareness and communication of ongoing Mersey Care delivered or external training courses that will support the development of training within the department

Creating feedback forms and collating feedback from staff and service users following training sessions in order to help improve training.

Carry out audits and support Team Leaders on compliance of audits.

Create, administer and carry out Customer Experience surveys, including Friends & Family.

Take training equipment to venues as required; set it up if necessary and repeat process when training completed liaising with venues and trainers as required.

Responsibility for stock control of training equipment including safe storage, transportation and usage of IT and other equipment used for training purposes i.e. laptop, PC towers, monitors and phones.
