Job summary

We are looking for a Modern Matron to work within our Secure Care Division. This will be someone who can demonstrate strong leadership, compassion and empathy to our patients, improving the quality of care and service delivery within a health care setting located within our Secure Care Service.

This post is a key clinical management role that will drive the clinical agenda for patients in our care. The role requires the post holder to manage resources and information through delegated responsibility from the Clinical Service Manager. The post holder will take a lead in addressing and improving the physical and mental health care needs of patients, including the delivery of key initiatives on reducing restrictive practice. It is imperative that the post holder has up to date knowledge and skills in these areas, including care pathway initiatives.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will need to ensure that robust arrangements are in place to manage clinical and non-clinical risk within the Secure Care Division and work alongside the Clinical Service Manager and Head ofOperations in delivering the Trust's performance management agenda.

The post holder will also be required to respect equality and diversity across all areas of working practice and challenge stigma associated with mental health and learning disabilities, ensuring that patients are at the centre of the care we provide.

This role is a fundamental part of the Senior Leadership Team, supporting the development, design, planning, implementation and review of financial, strategic, business and workforce plans.
