Job summary

To ensure the safe and effective delivery of The Community Mental Health Transformation programme, acting as a point of contact internally and externally for project communication.

Main duties of the job

  1. Report progress to the Deputy Divisional director and Head of Operations throughout the project.
  2. Work closely with the above and budget co-ordinator ensuring all budget items are tracked and reported on.
  3. Work closely with partners, departmental directors and leads to deliver project plans.
  4. Lead project management support to a controlled delivery programme of activities.
  5. Plan all aspects of project management with relevant stakeholders, documenting, monitoring and evaluating project plans.
  6. Ensure project management methodology deliverables are completed in accordance with project direction.
  7. Manage and track project delivery processes and timeline.
  8. Monitor the critical path, contingencies and scope changes.
  9. Monitor customer satisfaction and implements process improvement.
  10. Attend all relevant project related meetings.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager from time to time.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Formal Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 Practicioner
  • Other Project Management qualification such as change management

Knowledge/ experience

Essential

  • Project management experience in the public sector or equivalent experience in the private sector
  • Strategic management
  • Managing relationship
  • Achieving goals
  • Demonstrable ability of leading teams in transforming complex multi-site operational services
  • Experience of leading successful projects on time and within budgets
  • Can translate and deliver it, by generating achievable goals, which enable staff to engage with and understand local priorities.
  • Is aware of developments and significant issues which impact on an organisation and contributes to its strategy by developing its strengths and minimising risk whilst considering the implications of change

Desirable

  • Management experience in delivering service support change in a health care environment

  • Demonstrable ability to understand financial management systems and effectively manage significant project budgets
  • Demonstrable ability to manage project and programme expenditure
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of information systems and their role in supporting good project management
