Job summary
To work with a fast paced environment in capacity and flow (bed management) assist clinical staff in facilitating patient flow across the merseycare footprint.
Will be expected to carry out responsibilities in updating and recording of live documentation, liaising with multi professional in and out trust, being a key player in a busy team, successful candidate will be welcomed in to the team and supported in her secondment.
Main duties of the job
Support the day-to-day organisational/management responsibilities of the Team throughout the maintenance of Record Systems for the bed management service .Input data onto computerised systems as necessary and produce statistics as required by the Team and Acute Care management team.
Attend to post and file correspondence.
Request/retrieve medical records relating to service user appointments or queries.
Liaise with all staff concerned with bed management services, including communication with General Practitioners, service users and carers and other services that have a legitimate interest in the work of the Local Services Division and deal with enquiries by letter, fax, email, telephone and/or in person.
Make or change bed allocation on behalf of the Team and ensure that relevant documentation and updates are available.

- Establish good levels of communication/liaison with hospital departments/wards and other services involved with the bed management service provision.
- Liaise with Personal/Medical Secretaries, Clerks, and Receptionists when required.
- To co-ordinate annual leave taking with the Team and other colleagues.
- Make full use of information technology and co-operative in the introduction of technological developments.
- When required provide appropriate data for clinical audit purposes and produce audit information for staff within Mersey Care NHS Trust.
- To record all sickness, annual leave and other absences and liaise with the Team Manager as required.
- Mentoring new members of staff including temporary staff as and when required.
- The ability to work as a team member and be able to adhere to strict guidelines.
- Undertake general office duties e.g. photocopying, distribution of documents etc.
