Job summary

The Community Nursery Nurse (CNN) is an integral member of the Children's team. The role of the CNN is to support the Health Visitor in their work with children and families, with the overall aim of helping each identified child to achieve its full potential. The work of the CNN will be part of a planned programme of care within the Healthy Child programme (0 - 5) delegated by the Health Visitor, who has completed the initial assessment.

The CNN will work in line with both local and national guidance for public health.

Main duties of the job

Merseycare Foundation NHS Trust are looking for a Nursery Nurse to join our Professional and friendly team of Health Visitors, and existing Nursery Nurses to provide a high level of care to families within our community.

The role involves contributing to the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme within the commissioned criteria. Community Nursery Nurses within HV teams undertake delegated work which is family focused to improve health, reduce inequalities, safeguard children and offers diverse exposure to families.

Full training and support will be given to suitable qualified candidates. We have numerous positions available.

This is an opportunity to work within the Health Visiting service to deliver the healthy child programme within the Liverpool footprint.

  • Diploma in Childcare and Education (DCE) or
  • Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Early Years or

  • Excellent Communication Skills- spoken, written and IT
  • Ability to travel, for work purposes, within the Liverpool area
