We are looking for a highly committed, innovative pharmacists, with excellent organisation and communication skills who are keen to deliver clinical pharmacy services to the locality in-patient mental health services in Warrington and Halton on a full time, permanent basis.
Main duties of the job
Be responsible for implementing the Medicines Management Strategy within the Trust.
Ensure that services provided meet the standards laid down by the General Pharmaceutical Council, the National standards for the delivery of Pharmaceutical services, and the trust PCS.
Provide formal training/education for pharmacy staff, other healthcare professionals (e.g. nurses, medical students, GPs,), patients and carers.
Participate in association with lead pharmacists and other senior pharmacists in the service planning, organisation, workload allocation and management of the clinical pharmaceutical services / medicines management services.
Participate in the monitoring and analysis of drug expenditure.
To work closely with pharmacy technicians in advising healthcare professionals on medicines related improvements and action plans.
Undertake clinics with direct patient contact sometimes in patient own homes e.g. anticoagulation, medication review.
Undertake relevant training to maintain competencies and further develop clinical or technical specialist knowledge to meet the needs of this post.
Participate in clinical trial activity.
Ensure the implementation of all Merseycare Foundation Trust policies and procedures that impact on medicines management and pharmaceutical care, including adhering to the Trust Clinical and Managerial Supervision policies.
Maintain a CPD portfolio to the standards required by the General Pharmaceutical Council.
