Job summary
We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dedicated individual with either a librarianship qualification or equivalent experience in conducting literature searches to the role of Evidence Reviewer.
We are also keen to consider applications from those currently studying for a librarianship qualification who are interested in developing further within health libraries, and we would be willing to support study leave to the completion of their qualification.
While an understanding and experience of literature searching is a requirement for the role, training and support will be given to the successful applicant.
The Evidence Service team operates three staff library sites across the trust: Hollins Park, Warrington, Indigo Building, Maghull Health Park and Rathbone Library, Old Swan. Flexible and Hybrid working, with a home working element will be possible for this role.
Main duties of the job
This post will support the pursuit of Perfect Care by undertaking evidence reviews on behalf of clinical and corporate colleagues. These reviews will allow wards and teams to build on existing evidence to ensure that our patients are receiving the latest in evidence based healthcare. Access to these reviews will assist Mersey Care in becoming an innovative pioneer within mental health and learning disabilities care. The post holder will undertake one to one and group training to spread their evidence finding skills across the whole organization.

Provide appraised information in a synthesized format that will support changes in practice by individual practitioners, clinicians or directors. Use skills and expertise to judge and assess the quality and appropriateness of particular resources in response to complex questions Work on developing the evidence review service; promoting its use, developing new delivery mechanisms and products for ensuring our colleagues can access the best evidence resources within a short timeframe. To manage the delivery of the training programme that addresses the needs of a wide range of skills and abilities in staff ensuring they make effective use of electronic resources in support of evidence based practice and quality care. Identify and recommend new sources of evidence (journals, apps, reports) for procurement. Support the Evidence Services Lead in service adherence to national standards for NHS Knowledge and Library services. Create and manage online accounts that authenticate online resources; allowing users to access these resources outside of the Mersey Care Network. Support the Centre for Perfect Care in all of its strategic aims. Support the development and utilization of websites to promote evidence based practice and make evidence reviews available to a wider audience within Mersey Care.
