Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 7/8a preceptorship or 8a post (dependent on experience) working in the Step Forward Psychology Service.
The aim of the service is to provide psychological interventions to people experiencing complex mental health difficulties in the community. The service is unique whereby it aims to bridge the gap between traditional primary care psychology services and community mental health teams - this means the service is available for a new client group, including those who traditionally may have not met criteria for primary or secondary care mental health services.
The service is a new development and is continuously developing in response to its new client group and their needs; the team take a lead role in service developments. The team consists of clinical psychologists, psychological practitioners, and assistant psychologists; they have created a supportive and respectful culture, whereby their diverse range of skills can be utilised, and they look forward to welcoming a new team member.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will supervise and support the highly specialised psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychological professions and other members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
The post holder will exercise delegated management responsibilities where appropriate and work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the team.
The post holder will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research and propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the team.
