Job summary

The Emergency Department is looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of reception and administration staff on a full-time basis.

You will provide comprehensive administration support for the Emergency Department which supplies Emergency care 24 hours per days 365 days per year and the successful candidate will be expected work a mixture of days, nights and twilight's on a rota basis.

You must have good all round administration skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills with customer service experience and be computer literate.

You will have attention to detail and the ability to prioritize incoming work so as to help with department targets. With a strong emphasis on customer service, you will have good interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels

Main duties of the job

Accurately record on HIVE all related data for new and follow up attendances, updating all patients details where necessary.

Liaise with personnel from North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) or appropriate external agencies to obtain patient information as and when required. Ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.

Enter appointments on Adastra for any patient suitable to see a GP, ENPCo-ordinate the arrangement of follow-up appointments for A&E Review Clinic, scan any other appointments to appropriate departments.

Accurately record information for patients attending the department that have disclosed their NFA status and refer to the local authority if required. Accurately record information for patients attending the department who are from overseas.
