Post: band 7 Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapists-Paediatric Dysphagia and neonates
Hours: 32.5 hours/week
Location: Royal Manchester Children's Hospital covering North Manchester General LNU
This is an opportunity to enhance your skills and experience in this specialist area in an acute hospital setting across Neonates and Paediatrics.
MFT Neonatal service is across three sites - this role covers two of these sites.
The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital is a Tertiary hospital which admits children from the North West of England. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing holistic care to each patient in each acute setting.
You will have experience in Paediatric dysphagia with Post Basic Dysphagia Qualification or equivalent.
You should have experience working within special needs area including pre-school & school aged children.
You should have experience in the field of Neonates .
There is excellent in-house clinical support from experienced therapists.

Main duties of the job
This post provides an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills in the assessment and management of children with feeding & communication difficulties within the acute setting. This will include assessment & management of infants and children with tracheostomy, children with metabolic conditions, children with rare & congenital conditions.
You will have significant experience working in Paediatric dysphagia ideally in an acute setting supported by Post Basic Dysphagia Qualification or equivalent. You must also have experience working with infants and children with special needs including pre-school & school aged children.
Knowledge of tracheostomy assessment & management and Videofluroscopy are desirable.
There will be excellent in-house clinical support working alongside other experienced therapists.
This post is primarily a Neonates post but but also working in general paediatrics within the hospital setting.
