Immunology Specialist Nurse

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arose to join the Immunology and Allergy team at MRI in a B6 Nurse Specialist post.

The successful candidate will be joining a well-established small team of Nurse Specialists and Consultants in Immunology, who provide specialist care expertise across the region. We have a firm commitment to the education and training of others and promoting quality and excellence in immunology and allergy across Manchester Foundation NHS Trust.

For this Band 6 post, we are keen to appoint a team orientated, highly motivated nurse, who has a specialist interest in immunology and allergy. No experience required as full training will be provided

The successful post holder will develop the knowledge and skills to run nurse led clinics and provide specialist advice to patients, carers and professional colleagues.

Main duties of the job

Undertake nurse led clinics and day case activity to support the assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with allergic conditions.

Work within published guidelines on the identification and management of adults and children who are transitioning into adult services

Ensure interventions undertaken are in line with best practice guidance

Participate in the development and evaluation of policies/guidelines/protocols within the department

Provide education for patients and carers at diagnosis and throughout their care journey including condition and treatment options and advice on health and lifestyle activities.

Use specialist knowledge and clinical judgement to provide support and advice to patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team via telephone or face to face.

Liaise with members of the multidisciplinary team and contribute to training and education to support colleagues in the delivery of specialised patient care
