Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our TB Nursing Team. We are looking for 12 month fixed term Senior Health Care Support worker, to work 30 hrs a week.

The position is open to anyone meeting the criteria, and secondment opportunities will be considered.

We are a small team of TB nurses covering the TB services at North Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale and Bury localities, and the position holder will have the opportunity to work across all sites and will be expected to also independently visits patients in their own home.

Main duties of the job

The post is based within the Infectious Disease Department at North Manchester General Hospital, and the team deliver care both virtually and face to face, in clinics and in patients own homes. We support adults, children and families with active and latent TB.

We cover a 5 day week, and offer flexible opportunities over the 5 days to encourage a good work life balance.

We are looking for a flexible, dynamic person to support the team in delivering excellent care to a varied, often complex, patient group.

You will hold a driving licence, and have your own car to use to commute across the locality and to undertake patients home visits

You will provide support for patients and family on TB treatment by independently undertaking home visits, telephone interviews and supporting the TB Nurses in outpatient clinics.

You will be required to support the administrative team as needed and be competent in maintaining accurate records, including updating databases and ensuring timely and appropriate documentation of their own work

You will undertake venepuncture in patients own home and outpatient clinic departments
