Are you passionate about helping young people with mental health problems in an education based outreach service as part of the national Mental Health Support Team programme?
This is an opportunity to work as part of an innovative early intervention team delivering CBT informed interventions in education setting across Trafford. We are looking for registered professionals including EMHP's, CYWP's, registered and accredited CBT therapists; ideally with experience in team leadership and supervisory skills and training.
Trafford Thrive in Education are a Mental Health Support Team who work with Children, Young People and Families aged up to 18 years and who present with a wide range of low to moderate mental health difficulties . This service is provided across the city in a variety of educational settings including further education colleges.We are looking for an experienced mental health practitioner who is able to work autonomously at Band 7. You must have significant and demonstrable clinical experience of working with CYP's and families, who present with mental health needs and may present with risks to self or others. The role involves team leader responsibilities to support the service manager with line management/clinical supervision of team members, including trainee EMHPs. Ideally you will hold a CBT Supervision qualification or be working towards achieving this in the next 6-12 months and hold CBT informed therapy experience.
Main duties of the job
You must have a sound working knowledge of CAMHS or adult mental health that can be demonstrated at application and interview. You must have an understanding of assessing mental health needs and levels of risk, including safeguarding and self-harm. You must have a demonstrable range of clinical skills. You must be confident and competent to work as an autonomous practitioner within your own professional practice guidelines. Experience of delivering supervision using the CYP IAPT supervision framework, along with a sound working knowledge and ability in delivering low intensity CBT interventions, is required.
You will manage your own caseload, providing a range of high quality care appropriate to the CYP's needs which will include; mental state assessment, risk assessment/management, family and social assessment, consultation and CBT informed interventions. You will also be required to complete team leader duties, providing supervision to team members at all levels. The role involves providing consultation and training to education colleagues and support to improve the whole setting approach to mental health.
You must be confident and experienced in communication, due to the high level of liaison needed between MHST's and other services and be willing to work flexible hours in accordance with the needs of the young people and education settings.
