We are now seeking six exceptional Head of Clinical Group PMO to help lead this change within our Clinical Groups which are as follows

  • Clinical and Scientific Services (CSS) Clinical Group
  • Local Care Organisation (LCO) and Dental Clinical Group
  • Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI) Clinical Group
  • North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) Clinical Group
  • Specialist Hospitals Clinical Group (Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH), Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (MREH) and Saint Mary's MCS)
  • Wythenshawe, Trafford, Withington & Altrincham (WTWA) Clinical Group

These are pivotal leadership roles, responsible for shaping and delivering a portfolio of programmes aligned to our Value for Patients and productivity goals. You'll work closely with the Clinical Group Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team, divisional teams, the Trust Strategic PMO, and system partners to ensure our services evolve to meet the needs of our communities.

These are more than PMO roles--it's an opportunity to influence how care is delivered across one of the UK's largest and most ambitious NHS Trusts.

Main duties of the job

What You'll Do

  • Lead the strategic and operational delivery of transformation programmes within your Clinical Group.
  • Ensure alignment with Trust-wide priorities and the NHS Long Term Plan.
  • Embed robust governance, benefits realisation, and delivery assurance frameworks.
  • Collaborate with system partners to co-design and deliver integrated care solutions.
  • Use benchmarking tools like Model Hospital and GIRFT to drive data-led improvement.
  • Build capability across teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Educated to master's degree (Level 7) in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • PMO related professional qualification
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Qualification in improvement methodology
  • Coaching and/or Teaching Qualification

Skills, Knowledge and Understanding

Essential

  • Highly developed knowledge and understanding of managing successful programmes and projects
  • Highly developed knowledge of performance management requirements, data and analytics and processes in NHS Trusts
  • Significant managerial and leadership knowledge
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and project management software.

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience at a senior management in a provider organisation.
