An exciting opportunity has arisen within the supportive and enthusiastic Vascular Surgery Therapy Team for a forward- thinking Senior Specialist Physiotherapist.
You will be working as part of a dynamic, well-established, multidisciplinary team, alongside experienced Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Rehabilitation Assistants. We promote close multidisciplinary team working allowing a holistic approach to patient care. The role within the team will be to provide specialist care and management of vascular patients on the Manchester Vascular Centre, including patients who have undergone amputations, aneurysm repairs and revascularisation surgery.

Working within the Allied Health Professions at MFT is enhanced by our established Multi-disciplinary team strategy. The team consists of highly-specialised clinicians who support colleagues within the MDT providing high quality patient care.
You should have relevant Band 6 /7 clinical and developmental experience and will be actively involved in service and team development supporting senior clinical leads as well as supervision of clinical staff and students.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have the skills to undertake, on a daily basis, a senior specialist physiotherapy role, alongside the Clinical Lead Specialist Physiotherapist in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the service.
To carry an independent caseload of patients and deliver a high quality, comprehensive service managing patients in an appropriate manner according to acute vascular patients.
The post holder must possess excellent clinical reasoning skills and be a calm but assertive communicator, who is able to negotiate a way forward in even the most challenging situations.
There is a support network for all staff including clinical supervision and you will be directly involved in the supervision of junior staff and students.
Continued CPD is encouraged by regular MDT IST, senior development, peer support and opportunities of postgraduate development.
The inpatient services are delivered over 7 days and the post holder will be expected to support and participate in the delivery of these services as well as on call rota.

- State registration via Health and Care Professions Council

- Completion of validated/nationally recognised post graduate courses or equivalent post
