Job summary
The purpose of this post is to actively manage the administrative processes of patient pathways, ensuring asmooth and efficient service for patients referred to the service. Also to ensure and participate in providingan effective administration service to the multidisciplinary team.Monitor and maintain the databases supporting patient information in the specialties, take responsibilityfor ensuring the quality of information recorded.The post holder will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of clinical data administrative duties tosupport the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder must work as part of a team, have the ability toorganise and prioritise their own workload on a day to day basis, and observe strict rules aboutconfidentiality at all times. Working strictly in accordance with specific practice or national guidelines, theymust also know the limits of their own capabilities and seek direction from a doctor, supervisor or managerwhen required.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will be responsible for receiving and recording referrals to the service, managing patient lists, scheduling MDT meetings, recording meeting outcomes including minute taking, letter writing, updating patient lists, and distributing summary reports internally.The postholder will also liaise with others services in England to ensure standardised practices are adopted in each service, and to provide information to external stakeholders such as commissioners and a national registry.
