Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Pathway Navigator within the Renal Transplant Department.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organisation skills, fast typing skills and knowledge of medical terminology to ensure provision of a high quality and efficient administrative/secretarial service to Consultants and their team.

You must have good attention to detail together with the ability to prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines. Duties will include dealing with telephone enquiries, letters, email, diaries, organising meetings, chasing deadlines, collation of information/results for reports and typing of clinics alongside theatre scheduling.

You should have previous secretarial experience as well as being flexible and able to work as part of a team. In return we will provide a comprehensive induction with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.

Main duties of the job

To ensure provision of a comprehensive, high quality and efficientadministrative and secretarial service to Consultants and theirteam.

To work as part of a team ensuring that adequate arrangements forcover are in place for own planned absence and there is fullparticipation in cover for colleagues during planned absence,sickness or workload pressures. To work alone and manage ownworkload.

Prioritise and allocate work resulting from opening and actioning ofmail.

To act as point of contact in dealing with complex telephone callsand enquiries promptly and efficiently, referring on as necessary.

To develop and maintain a robust system for dealing with patientresults ensuring these are dealt with appropriately and in a timelymanner
