Job summary
We are looking for a self-motivated, highly organised individual to join our Endoscopy Booking team supporting the endoscopy service in day to day office functions including, scheduler management, telephone handling,
You must be hard working, possess good oral and written communication skills, have good computer skills and be flexible to the needs of the department. Previous clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare setting, would be desirable. This post is varied and we therefore seek a self motivated person with good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Please note we cross cover across Trafford General Hospital, Wythenshawe and North Manchester.
Main duties of the job
Ensuring patients are on the correct 6-week diagnostic pathway, validating this and amending as necessary, and to deal with patients who wish to change or cancel their appointments.
Booking patients into clinic lists in accordance with 6-week diagnostic time-frames and in line with patient access policy.
Liaising with consultants with regards to case-mix, additions to lists and list changes.
Liaising with other disciplines, staff and departments ensuring relevant information is communicated in a timely manner and to act in a professional and polite manner at all times;
Audiotyping of patient letters
Dealing with internal and external mail;
Ensuring that there is adequate provision of stationery (e.g. patient information leaflets);
Adapting positively to change when new booking methods or working practice guidelinesare introduced;
Working additional hours as and when required to meet the demands of the service or when colleagues are absent through annual leave/sickness-prior notice would be given;
