Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Anaesthetic practitioner (ODP) or a Registered Nurse with the correct anaesthetic qualification to join our expanding team in Radiology.
The post-holder will become part of a team working in the Radiology department with children and adults having radiology exams under anaesthesia, such as Magentic Resonance (MR scans).
**All applicants must have a relevant Anaesthetic qualification.**
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work primarily within the Radiology department at Wythenshawe Hospital in the brand new MR suite, but will also be required to work at other Radiology departments within the Trust such as at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary.
The post holder will prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care to an agreed and expected high standard. Work closely with the multi- disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students. Participate fully in a structured competency based programme, as required.
The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team on a shift basis, taking overall responsibility for effective management of the team and the maintenance of high standards of quality care to the client group.
