Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital for a confident, compassionate NAR for Ward 83.
This is a 11 bedded unit that cares for children with a wide variety of medical issues, including long term ventilation and complex respiratory conditions.
The successful applicant will be required to provide excellent care to our patients and their families with particular focus on patient safety, workforce management and quality improvement. You will work closely with the senior nursing and medical team to ensure delivery of these high standards of care.
You will be team-orientated and also able to work autonomously; you will have excellent leadership, management, communication and interpersonal skills and be committed to the advancement of practice in this field.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of the ward 83 team you will deliver a high standard of nursing care, contributing to the ongoing assessment,providing and monitoring evidence based care and working in partnership with themulti-disciplinary team.

- Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC Register with a Foundation Degree
- GCSEs Grade C or above in Maths and English Language / New GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths and English Language OR Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or Equivalent (not entry level 2)
Knowledge
Essential
- Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
- Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code.
- Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
