Job summary

The post holder will be expected to provide detailed specialist respiratory knowledge and care to Infectious Diseases patients and their carers. They will act as a source of specialist advice in the physiotherapy management of patients in their specialist area who require a high level of judgment, discretion and decision-making whilst as an inpatient/outpatient or in a setting external to the Trust. The post holder will provide relevant education and training to patients, carers and healthcare professionals

Main duties of the job

To undertake an outpatient team leader role, alongside the Therapy Managers for Acute Patient Services, the Consultant Physicians, Nurses and other Allied Health Professionals (AHP's) within the Infectious Diseases Service in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the Physiotherapy service provided to patients referred to this service on a day to day basis.

To carry an independent caseload of patients and deliver a high standard of physiotherapy, managing patients in an appropriate manner according to the area of specialty.
