Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Endoscopy Unit at Trafford General Hospital. . We are a state of the art JAG accredited Endoscopy Unit and one of the hosts of the North West Training Academy. You will be supported by our dedicated Clinical Educator to become competent in assisting with a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures. Main duties of the job

Join us and you'll have the opportunity to work in the Trust's diagnostic center of excellence for diagnostic endoscopy procedures. We are one of four endoscopy units with the Trust making us one of the largest Endoscopy Departments in the North West. What's more, we'll be facilitating the latest and most current procedures in our field, partnering with our counterparts at Manchester Royal, to facilitate the Endoscopy Academy for both nurses and doctors, coupled with a satellite teaching facility.With access to 4 procedure rooms here on the TGH site, our procedures are varied and diverse and include diagnostics and surveillance, gastroscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy , colonoscopy, PEG insertion, bronchoscopy, EBUS, delivering high quality care to our patients. What's more, we also host the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme so there is a real range of specialisms to develop your skills and experience.To succeed, you'll need to be committed to delivering high quality, patient focused care with pride and respect, have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to provide evidence of personal and professional development. With recent acute NHS experience as a must, we'll train you in our endoscopy services and along the way, you'll be supported by our in-house endoscopy educator with access to some of most sought after bespoke courses to progress your knowledge and experience in this field.

  • Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC Register with a Foundation Degree
  • GCSEs Grade C or above in Maths and English Language / New GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths and English Language OR Functional Skills Level 2 in Maths and English or Equivalent (not entry level 2)

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development
  • Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code
  • Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice
  • Understand requirements for NMC professional Revalidation
