Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a capable and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) Safeguarding Team. Integral to the smooth running of the department, you will provide a comprehensive, high quality and efficient administrative service to the Team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder should have strong organisational skills, be an effective communicator and be able to work with their own initiative and as part of a team. This is a challenging and rewarding role in which you will be ideally placed to enhance your administrative skills.

With sufficient experience in an administrative/secretarial role, you will have a good standard of education and a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Proactive, flexible and organised, you must have the ability to work to tight timescales and keep a calm head under pressure. You will be familiar with data protection issues and patient confidentiality.

An understanding of safeguarding would be advantageous.

In return, we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate.

  • Good standard of education at 'A' level or City and Guilds or National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3.

Desirable

  • ECDL/ITQ

Knowledge and Experience

  • Previous experience within an office/administration environment.

  • Experience of maintaining robust filing systems (paper and electronic).
