Job summary

On joining the Reproductive Medicine Department the successful candidate will be part of an experienced team who are committed to providing a high quality booking and scheduling service.

The role of the Clerical Officer requires attention to detail, organisation and prioritisation skills. Answering calls from patients, arriving and directing patients within the department and booking appointments.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will demonstrate flexibility being committed to improving the patient experience.

Main duties of the job

Greet people attending the reception area, ascertaining their requirements and respond to those requirements accordingly including the recording of their attendance for clinic appointments and scans.

Assist in booking appointments for patients as directed by clinical staff and management team.

Provide a telephone service responding to queries and relaying messages as necessary including liaising with other departments where appropriate and taking patient treatment requests.

Record all admissions and discharges on the ward on appropriate databases (e.g. HIVE).

Register patients on the Meditex (IVF EPR System) and update where required in a timely manner.
