The purpose of the Health Innovation Network is to transform lives through innovation, so if you are seeking a predominantly remote role to make a real difference to lives of our populations in England, working collaboratively at an executive level, then this role is for you.
To meet the aspirations of the Health Innovation Network and achieve the Strategic ambitions and business plan, the Network Central team is moving to its next stage of maturity which requires an agile, collaborative and experienced, commercially and financially aware Chief Operating Officer to lead the team and support a "one Network" approach.
The Chief Operating Officer will be accountable for execution of the Network Business Plan and budget, supporting the Network Executive Chair to act as the strategic point of contact for the Health Innovation Network at a national level, displaying and role modelling effective team leadership and organisation development capabilities to enable a high performing team to deliver the Network Operating Model maximising Network collaboration and impact. Developing a positive and productive workplace culture to a geographically dispersed team and ensure the wellbeing and development of its people.
Main duties of the job

Manage and build key relationships with diverse and senior stakeholders, at local, regional and national level, to further the strategic aims of the Network, and act as the strategic point of contact for potential partners seeking to engage with the Network at a national level.
Build and nurture effective relationships with Local health innovation networks, providing necessary guidance and support to enable local delivery of the Network Business Plan objectives and oversee Network operations.
To negotiate the annual funding agreement for the Network Central Team with the 15 local health innovation networks through the Network Executive and agree annual budgets for functions across the Network Central Team.

Operational effectiveness
To be accountable for the operational management of the Network Central Team, managing, supporting and developing organisational arrangements to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes that give confidence to Chief Officers, commissioners, and wider stakeholders on operational performance and achievement of the Network Business Plan.
To oversee delivery of the Network Business Plan to time, budget and scope.
To oversee the implementation and continuous development of the Network Operating Model to ensure the Network has the core capabilities, and optimal connectivity between these capabilities, to be an effective and efficient Network Central Team. This includes building a framework for when more specialist capabilities are required from external sources to enhance our ability to deliver key work.
Network operations and governance
To build and nurture effective relationships with Local health innovation networks, providing necessary guidance and support to enable local delivery of the Network Business Plan objectives.
To oversee Network operations, annual business planning activities, and the Network Governance Framework to facilitate collective decision-making and oversight.
Organisation development and culture
Working with the Network Executive Chair and Vice-Chair, ensure the Central Network Team has the right competency, capacity and experience to deliver the Network operating model and governance framework, to achieve the ambitions set out in the annual business plan, and maximise Network impact and reputation.
Working with the Network Central Team, foster a high performing team culture that supports individuals to do their best work, model Network values, and engage with colleagues in local health innovation networks to succeed together.
