Job summary
Associate Practitioners will utilise a high-level of skill and knowledge to undertake multiple aspects of the Andrology and United Kingdom National External Quality Assessment Service (UK NEQAS) Reproductive Science service in the Department of Reproductive Medicine (DRM). They will undertake activities under the direction of a HCPC registered Healthcare Professional but will often undertake tasks without direct supervision. The role involves direct patient interaction, a component of laboratory practice and administration activities under licensed activities and stock maintenance.

Please be aware of the following work pattern: 18 hours per week (Monday and Friday 08:00 - 14:00). The remaining 6 hours will be mutually agreed with the successful candidate
Main duties of the job
The role as an associate practitioner in Andrology undertakes a wide array of duties that include patient facing and laboratory activities. They have a high degree of autonomy, working within a large multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to support laboratory activities.

Key components of the role include:
- Technical and scientific duties - including undertaking aspects of semen analysis.
- Clinical - including escalation of health questionnaires for semen analysis and attendance in theatres if required.
- Reception and Administration - to support patients attending andrology and providing advice on sample collection activities.
- Education and development - to participate in ongoing learning and development and maintaining training/competency requirements.
- Infection control - adhering to Trust infection prevention and control procedures.
- Health and Safety - to adhere to laboratory and Trust policies and procedures.
