Job summary
This Post will be based at the Wythenshawe Campus.MFT is one of the biggest, most ambitious, and progressive NHS Trusts in the country. We are responsible for running a family of nine hospitals across six separate sites, providing a wide range of services.
We are looking for a team player who is flexible and self-motivated to enhance our Aseptic Services Team. You will have a professional outlook and able to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills.
This is an apprenticeship and candidates will be given 1 day a week to attend college lectures, either in person or remotely to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Aseptic Pharmaceuticals Processing over 2 years. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be qualified as a Science Manufacturing Technician, eligible to register with the Science Council and be employed as a permanent band 4 Science Manufacturing Technician in the Aseptic Services Team.
This role will include 1 in 4 Saturday working as part of a rota and Bank Holiday working as part of a rota at the Oxford Road Campus. Posts will be based at either the Oxford Road Campus or Wythenshawe with the possibility of cross site working at each site.

Main duties of the job
You will have responsibility for assisting the Senior Technical Team in the day-to-day management and development of the Aseptic Services Unit Cytotoxic, PN and CIVA Service within MFT.
To carry out aseptic preparation including parenteral nutrition, CIVA, cytotoxic drugs, gene therapy and monoclonal antibodies from point of prescription receipt including accurately measuring volumes, following departmental procedures.
You will be responsible for the transfer disinfection into the aseptic units all items required for aseptic process.
To assist the Senior Technical Team - Aseptic Services in planning, organising and managing the workload in accordance with the capacity plan, ensuring adequate numbers of appropriately trained staff are available to perform tasks required for a given activity level and feeding back information to Senior managers when breaches and constraints occur, following departmental processes.
