If you have answered yes to either of these then a job working in the Community Adult Learning Disability service as a Physiotherapy Technician could be the perfect role for you.

Main duties of the job

As aSpecialist Learning Disabilities Physiotherapy team we work with Adults in 5 Key areas, Rehabilitation, Mobility Problems, 24 hour Posture Management, Falls Management and Respiratory problems. We also have an active role in equipment provision and moving and handling.

Your role as a Band 4 will be to deliver an outstanding level of service to our client group.

The teams are led by highly specialist health professionals. We promote close MDT working allowing a holistic approach to patient care, joint therapy working & developments. We work closely with our social care colleagues.

The teams are proactive in the development of both staff & service and are committed to CPD providing regular specialist multidisciplinary support & education with regular reviews & supervision.

Essential

  • Multi-professional NVQ Level 3, or equivalent
  • Numeracy and Literacy skills (to GCSE level or equivalent)
  • Experience working with Adults with Learning Disabilities.
  • Experience in working with people needing wheelchairs and specialist seating due to complex postures.
  • The ability to extract relevant information from medical records in order to complete referral and application forms for patients
  • Have knowledge and understanding of potential respiratory difficulties of people with complex needs
  • An awareness of moving and handling in relation to patient care.

Desirable

  • Foundation degree in health and social care
  • Experience working in hydrotherapy.
  • To have previous experience of equipment assessment and provision.
