Job summary

The Finance department based with the Manchester Royal Infirmary Hospital Team (MRI) have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to join the team as one of our new Finance Apprentice roles.

Working as an integral part of our MRI Finance Department we will provide the opportunity through the national apprenticeship scheme to work towards your AAT Level 2 or AAT Level 3 qualification in collaboration with an experienced approved training partner. As a Finance Apprentice you will be able to gain valuable on the job training experience of NHS Finance through your work supporting clinical divisions as part of the supportive Finance Department at MRI.

The Finance Apprentice role is a fixed term 18 months contract which provides the framework for you to build the foundation blocks through your professional qualification and on the job training to start your exciting NHS Finance Career in a large and supportive organisation. Leading to future development opportunities within the team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the MRI Financial Management team in supporting the Clinical divisions at the MRI. This includes supporting the Deputy Finance Business Partner in the production of annual and monthly budget reports that will support budget holders with the delivery of excellent health care services.

The apprentice will be supported to develop and implement skills which will allow them get involved in finance activities including:

  • Preparation of accounting journals to correctly reflect the financial position
  • Learn how to produce and present financial information
  • Work with budget holders to support them with decision making
