An exciting opportunity has arisen within our dental laboratories for an enthusiastic Senior Dental Technician (B6) to support our team at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester.Applications are invited from dental technicians who are fully registered with the GDC and hold recognised academic qualification(s) plus relevant experience. We encourage applications from Dental Technicians whether your experience and background is based in a commercial dental laboratory or NHS hospital setting.We are seeking an innovative, talented and self-motivated individual to join our extended, multi-disciplinary dental team. The successful candidate will have good knowledge and practical experience in prosthodontics / prosthetics techniques and related materials.
We utilize both analogue and digital production processes across all laboratory departments and we currently have multiple CAD systems that are supported by onsite 3D printing and milling CAM systems.
Main duties of the job
Duties of the role include but are not limited to:
Construction of a wide range of mainly prosthodontic/prosthetic restorations/appliances which will be advanced and complex using both analogue and CADCAM processes.
Develop skills in highly specialised work which may be innovative.
Construction of a variety of restorations to support the Oral Surgery, Implantology, TMD and wider restorative services - training will be provided in house as required.
Must have sufficient post-qualification prosthetics experience to be able to work independently and take responsibility towards furthering the training and mentoring of other staff within the service.
Work effectively as part of a team demonstrating attention to detail, good organisational skills and compliance with laboratory regulations and protocols. Deputizing for the Lead Prosthetic Technician.
