Job summary

Are you a supportive and friendly individual with a level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in childcare? Come and join our First Steps Nursery Team as a Nursery Assistant.

Our Nursey offers a safe and stimulating environment across 8 rooms for children aged 6 months - 5 years. Purpose built, all rooms are fully equipped to cater for all learning and developing needs and there is also a large outside play area where children are encouraged to interact with others, explore activities and develop their experiences.

You will be a dedicated Nursery Assistant working as part of our team to make children's nursery day a unique, fun and happy one in a safe and stimulating environment. Your knowledge and understanding of Early Years Foundation Stage is essential and you will be supported to enhance your skills via internal and external training and development

You will be required to work flexibly between the hours of 07:15-18:00 Monday- Friday on a rota basis.

First Steps Nursery is an OFSTED registered Nursery that is based at our Oxford Road Campus open to children of employees of MFT.

Main duties of the job

Be responsible for a key group of children include completion of observations, assessments and learning journeys under the guidelines of the early year's foundation stage.

Work closely with the nursery nurses enhancing and implementing appropriate activities.

Assist the nursery establish good relationships with children, parents and colleagues ensure the aims of the nursery are met.

Help create a stimulating atmosphere for the children in their care.

Care for equipment and play materials and encourage the children respect it.

Take responsibility for the serving of meals and refreshments.

Report all matters concerning the child's development, attitudes and behaviors the nursery managers and senior staff and then confer with parents and others concerned with the welfare ofthe children in their care.
