Job summary

An exciting opportunity to join Manchester Foundation Trust in this key role within Group Informatics responsible for the assurance and delivery of the Informatics Portfolio made up of change initiatives ranging from service improvements to large scale digital programmes. The Head of Group Informatics Portfolio & Strategy will lead the the Portfolio Office in the organisation, prioritisation, scheduling and assurance of the full range of digital initiatives. The Portfolio office will assure, report and liaise across Group Informatics and work in partnership with the Digital Delivery Team and Informatics leads in the strategically led delivery of digital change.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Group Informatics Portfolio and Strategy reports to and supports the Director for Digital Strategy, Portfolio, & Governance, in the effective delivery of their strategic vision and is responsible for shaping and leading the Group Informatics Portfolio Office (PO) function.They lead and champion a robust and appropriate portfolio management office discipline across Group Informatics to ensure that the constituent programmes and projects, in parallel to operational BAU activities, which form the overall portfolio of work, delivers its contribution to Group Informatics, and the wider MFT strategic objectives.

Essential

  • Masters level degree or equivalent or equivalent experience
  • Clear evidence of continued professional development relating to programme or project management and PMO such as P3O or ISEB PPSO
  • Clear evidence of continued Personal Development

Desirable

  • Masters level degree or equivalent within a Business or IT specific subject
  • Professional qualifications such as MSP, P3O, ISEB PPSO, MSP, MOR

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial experience in the direct management of multiple Programme-level PMO functions across a complex change delivery environments, including a complex NHS organisation
  • Substantial demonstrable experience in designing and delivering best practice PMO functions and services across complex organisations including NHS experience
  • Direct experience and application of project and programme management methodologies within complex organisations, including NHS
  • Substantial people management experience both direct and matrix management
  • Significant experience and a proven ability to deal effectively with senior stakeholders across internal and external organisational functions
  • Significant experience in translating organisational vision and change agendas into an aligned strategy and objectives for their team
