Job summary

The Undergraduate Medical Education department at Manchester University Hospitals Foundation Trust (Oxford Road Site) is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and innovative doctors to join their Clinical Education Team as full-time Clinical Education Fellows starting in August.

As one of the biggest providers of healthcare graduates in the North West, Manchester Medical School plays a pivotal role in the training of doctors. Essential to this is the delivery of a world leading clinical curriculum. The Undergraduate Department at Manchester Foundation Trust has a strong reputation for delivering high quality, enjoyable, innovative teaching, utilising clinical skills tutors, lecturers, and doctors. Your clinical skills

and knowledge will help educate the next generation of doctors and you will be supported to grow and develop as a clinical educator.

Candidates have their own GMC registration: an active license with the GMC at the point of application.

Because this post involves preparing students to work in the NHS, Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience working within the NHS.

Candidates who do not fit this criteria will not progress through to the shortlisting stage.

Main duties of the job

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

You will support developments in the Undergraduate medical curriculum for years 3-5 and the transition to the Foundation Programme. A detailed training program will be established for the post holder in all areas of medical education, including curriculum development, clinical teaching, research, assessment and educational management. With increasing emphasis on the importance of simulation in Undergraduate education, this post will offer the applicant the opportunity to collaborate with the Head of Clinical Skills, in developing and delivering a comprehensive simulation programme for Undergraduates.

Candidates will be encouraged to collaborate with other Education Fellows within the trust and Northwest to develop innovative ways to deliver medical education.
