Job summary

The LIMS Configuration Analyst will support and configure the Laboratory Information Management Systems at the different sites of the North West Laboratory Hub, working with the application specialists and development manager.

The post holder will work closely with stakeholders supporting configuration and optimisation of the LIMS and business as usual (BAU) requests. You will work closely with colleagues to design, draw up technical specifications, configure, test and implement changes with the stakeholders' support.

This role will be focused on on-going roll-out of LIMS to all laboratory functions and BAU activities including referrals, sample tracking and diagnostic test order management and results reporting and has a direct impact on supporting the GLH staff and improving patient care.

Main duties of the job

Key emphasis will be on the analysis and interpretation of current workflows and practices and, with a creative approach, redesign, build & test utilising the advanced functionality of the LIMS systems of the North-West Genomic Laboratory Hub (NWGLH).

You will be responsible for engaging and supporting the future state design and analysis with Application Specialists and service leads acting as a system expert and designer making recommendations based on systems knowledge.

Work as part of the NWGLH Data Team you will actively seek out new ideas and challenge the boundaries of the LIMS functionality through broad scanning and networking.

You will help identify the key business requirements of stakeholders/customers, prepare functional specifications.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of a range of Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and in particular Excel
