Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of Post CCT Fellow in Plastic Surgery with a special interest in Major Trauma Reconstruction. This is a full time position with 10 programmed activities.

We are looking for candidates who will help deliver a high quality Plastic Major Trauma service. Governance, team infrastructure,, and support will be provided by the Plastic Surgery Department to aid development. The post aims at providing support to the Major Trauma Centre at the Oxford Road site primarily and to plastic services in general.

Candidates that are non-GMC registered at the point of application will be considered for this position, under the Trusts International Fellowship Scheme (please note, there is a £500 admin charge for this scheme). Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to provide:

  • Supporting the orthoplastic/trauma service in attaining BOAST 4 compliance.
  • Elective Plastic Work
  • Skills to enhance the existing trauma service and lower limb reconstruction developments.The successful candidate r will hold the FRCS(Plast) qualification, and will have achieved a CCT in plastic surgery and will have a full GMC registration and a license to practice in the UK is required.
  • The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team approach alongside of medical staff, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals.
  • This Directorate is going through an exciting period of transformation, in line with this this post will commence a soon as is possible. These posts will be key in leading and developing the Orthoplastic service at MFT. We may decide to close this vacancy earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

  • The post holder will be part of a dynamic and innovative Plastic and Burns department which currently runs a post-CCT fellowship programme as well as research and teaching programmes. The post holder should be able to demonstrate competencies in general plastic/hand trauma. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across MFT and will be fully supported by the current Orthoplastic team.
