Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as an osteoporosis specialist nurse within the endocrinology service at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

You will be part of a highly specialised multidisciplinary team, working in an out-patient clinic and as well as running your own clinics, will also provide education and advice to patients with metabolic bone disease, their carers and GPs. You will have the opportunity to participate in shaping the service , using patient feedback and in line with the Annual Plan.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in metabolic bone disease, or who has a background as a specialist nurse with transferable skills- the key is to be enthusiastic, driven and passionate about providing the best evidence based care for your patients with a desire to constantly improve.

Main duties of the job

You will provide specialist knowledge, experience, and skills in the management of patients with osteoporosis/metabolic bone disease using up to date knowledge of current research and innovative treatments.

You will have your own out-patient clinics and provide advice and support for your patients, their carers, GPs and other teams involved in the treatment pathway.

You will contribute to the effective planning and use of resources, manage effective multi-disciplinary teamwork and monitor agreed standards of care and action planning.
