Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Thoracic Surgical navigation team based at Wythenshawe Hospital. You will be responsible for tracking patients to the relevant cancer pathways and targets. You would be expect to liaise with local hospitals and cancer services departments to obtain results and reports and escalate any delays to prevent delays in the cancer pathways.

You would be responsible for the booking of appointments and informing patients of these.

1 x 37.5 hr permanent position

Main duties of the job

You would be responsible for the analysis and adjustment of complex patient pathways and able to support and advise both internal and external clinical teams and patients.

Ensure that every patient and health care professional that utilises the MFT Thoracic surgical service has an excellent experience of it.

Assist medical staff to triage patients into the service and identify those patients suitable for prehabilitation and clinical trials.

Track patients throughout their journey, against the relevant patient pathways ensuring that patients are managed well within the relevant national target, liaising with the relevant ward/department. Take appropriate action/escalate any delays with the relevant clinician and directorate management teams to prevent target breaches. Daily use of the live tracking boards.
