Job summary

An opportunity has arisen to appoint an Assistant Operational Manager, within Specialist Medicine at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital on a Permanent basis. We are therefore seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced person to join our team.

Experience in operational performance and line management responsibilities are essential. A proactive, professional, positive outlook and the flexibility to embrace change are an essential element of this role. The post holder should be prepared to work in a challenging and changing environment.

You will be ensuring the achievement of local and national performance targets within the Portfolio.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Operational Manager and Deputy Directorate Manager with both business and operational management to ensure that the service is delivered to the highest levels of efficiency and quality.

You must have strong leadership skills with the ability to engage clinical and managerial teams in developing high performance, meeting targets to continually improve patient care, reflecting our values and behaviours. You must have prior experience of supporting change and working effectively with clinical and administrative teams.
