Job summary

To be successful in this post you will ideally have experience of dealing with HR issues across all aspects of employee relations, however developmental opportunities are available. You will have excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with a wide range of people including HR colleagues, Trade Union representatives, senior managers and staff.

This role involves advising managers regarding terms and conditions of employment and supports the full range of employee relations case work.

You will also have the opportunity to get involved with Group HR function project work.

The team provide a professional, high quality HR service to the Corporate Services Division of the Trust and also has Group HR responsibilities - these are activities/projects that are done on behalf of MFT as a whole, so will give the successful candidate good exposure to the whole HR function.

Main duties of the job

In particular, you will provide support to managers offering advice regarding terms and conditions of employment and support a range of employee relations case work including: disciplinary, grievance, performance management, dignity at work and sickness absence management. You will also have the opportunity to get involved with project work.

Other responsibilities include providing data to measure Workforce Key Performance Indicators, developing information including guidance notes to support managers and staff; and delivering HR policy skills workshops for managers.

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Working towards CIPD qualification (Postgraduate Diploma in HRM) or equivalent relevant professional qualification.

Knowledge

Essential

  • A knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and employment issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft packages

Experience

  • Demonstrate through CPD, employment law updates and various other training courses an up to date knowledge of HR/Personnel practices & Change Management.
