Job summary

The post holder will support the Deputy Directorate Manager and the Directorate Manager in the operational management of all services within the Surgical Directorate. This includes supporting the delivery ofall performance targets, including waiting time targets, contracted activity, finance, service standards/quality and service productivity & efficiency.

The post holder will deputise for the Deputy Directorate Manager

In addition the post holder willsupport the development and improvement of the entire Patient Pathway, including exploring ways to improve the productivity & efficiency of theatres, waiting list management and improved coding of activity.

The postholder will lead on a number of workstreams as directed by the Directorate Manager.

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen to appoint an Operational Manager within the Surgical Division.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced person to join our Operational Management Team.

The post holder should be prepared to work in a challenging and changing environment. Experience in operational performance and line management responsibilities are essential. A proactive, professional, positive outlook and the flexibility to embrace change are an essential element of this role. You will be ensuring the achievement of local and national performance targets within the Portfolio.

You will have:

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage your time effectively.
  • The ability to develop excellent working relationships at all levels and with strong communication and leadership skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and produce results to tight deadlines.
