The EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) Practitioner will help to create a fair and inclusive culture at MFT, which respects difference, advocates for human rights and actively supports improving the lived experiences of our patients, service users and workforce.
You will help to achieve the aims within the Diversity Matters Strategy, which are to have improved patient access, safety and experience, a representative and supportive workforce and inclusive leadership.
Working in partnership with a range of internal and external EDI stakeholders , you will manage a range of EDI projects, helping to promote equitable and effective ways of working. You will work closely with colleagues to seek opportunities, which strengthen and integrate EDI into our Trust policies, plans and principles.
Data is our evidence for change, but data isn't everything - it's what we do next that counts, so you will support teams to be creative in developing their own EDI projects and plans.

Main duties of the job
You will work with colleagues to develop our Diversity Matters Strategy, which is at the heart of everything we do.
You will engage with the workforce in our hospitals and community sites to support the implementation and monitoring of their EDI plans and activity, which align with the Trusts values, legal and contractual obligations.
You will also get the opportunity to engage with patients and service users, dependant on our varied meetings, groups and interventions.
You will be expected to have experience of working on specific related EDI workstreams, such as Equality Impact Assessments, which support our workforce to consider how changes and transformation can impact on individuals and groups.
The development and delivery of EDI & Human Rights training and learning interventions for our workforce will be significant, alongside creating and maintaining effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders across our diverse Manchester and Trafford communities.
Collating and analysing our workforce data, is an important part of the role and enables us to provide Trust information and action plans to the NHS and other statutory bodies.
Our internal and external websites, let people know who we are, what we do and how to provide feedback, so maintaining the EDI content on the Trust's intranet and external website will be a valued responsibility.
Organising inclusion events and campaigns will help you to promote the importance of diversity.
