Job summary

Are you excited about improving health and care treatments and pathways? Do you enjoy working with people accessing care systems to support their experience? Then you should be working with our National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) Greater Manchester's Core Delivery Team.

Research carried out here in Greater Manchester has contributed to landmark breakthroughs in the fight against COVID-19; breakthroughs which now allow millions of people to be safely tested, treated, and protected from the virus.

You will be instrumental in implementing study objectives and will provide dedicated support to ensure that studies are delivered to time and target. You will be involved in ensuring that research undertaken safeguards the wellbeing of patients and is undertaken within Good Clinical Practice Guidelines. This support requires flexibility and ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment.

In return the Clinical Research Network will provide the successful candidate with comprehensive induction, orientation and training, and will ensure that you have tailored, individual personal development plans with support for further training.

Main duties of the job

The main purpose of the role is to assist clinical research teams with all aspects of administration related to clinical trials according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Trust policies. The post holder would provide support to NIHR research teams across the Network with trial activities including tracking participants, completing case report forms, assisting in the set up of new trials and ongoing administrative management of existing trials.

Please note that this post will be required to work at any site within the NIHR CRN: Greater Manchester network. This region includes all NHS Trusts across Greater Manchester as well as East Cheshire NHS Trust and East Lancashire NHS Foundation Trust, and also covers primary care, social care and other community settings, therefore being able to travel independently across the region is essential.

Please note that from 1st October 2024 the CRN: GM will be merging with the North West Coast CRN to create a new organisation that will be known as the North West Regional Research Delivery Network and therefore there may be a requirement to travel out of Greater Manchester.
