Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity for an an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Respiratory team. The role is for an Team Leader/Office Manager to provide administrative support for a busy service. Working as part of a friendly team you will have excellent communication skills and be able to work calmly under pressure using your own initiative, with an ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines.Essentially, we are looking for a good standard of general education along with previous experience in the NHS, ideally with knowledge of outpatient clinics and to have a good level of computer literacy, proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

We would expect the candidate to be a good team player with a flexible approach to work, providing assistance to your colleagues and covering for sickness and planned annual leave, helping to ensure an effective administrative and administrative services at all times.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be responsible for providing day-to-day administrative services, performance delivery and management of waiting lists for both electives and outpatients within the Sleep Service and acting as a point of contact for senior colleagues. The post-holder will be required to implement policies and procedures in their own area, communicate effectively and act independently. The post-holder will be expected to exercise their own judgement through experience and troubleshoot, flagging up matters outside of their remit to the Operations Manager.

The post holder will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff within their appointed area and will be required to undertake staff appraisals, monitoring of attendance and sickness management, along with other HR responsibilities in line with this role.
