Job summary
The Acute Medicine department is looking to appoint enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic junior clinical fellow colleagues to join our team in Acute Medicine at North Manchester Hospital to work on our Ambulatory Care Unit and Acute Medical wards. The post is from early 2024 for 12 months. Applicants should have worked in the NHS for at least 6 months and completed a FY1 level year prior to this. The consultants in our current team have varied sub-specialty interests and the team is supported by a large multidisciplinary team of junior trainees, clinical fellows, ACPs and a dedicated physiotherapy, occupational therapy and social work team for our unit.
The posts are based at North Manchester General Hospital and will rotate between our two acute medicine units and the ambulatory care unit. There will also be the opportunity to gain experience in the new acute hospital at home virtual ward.
These posts will be offered on an 80:20 job plan, allowing 20% non-clinical time to ensure protected time for QI, audit and other projects.
Main duties of the job
Working between the Ambulatory Care Unit and the Acute Medical Unit on a flexible rota.
ACU are a flexible team with referrals from the local GP community, return appointments from clinics and streaming from the Emergency Department.
The unit is lead by an Acute Medial Consultant.
